Paris Hilton has officially begun serving her jail sentence for probation violation. The Simple Life star surrendered to Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials Sunday night at the Men's Central Jail in downtown L.A.

Hilton was booked at 11:38 pm, shortly after she left the MTV Movie Awards — her last red carpet event for a while. The heiress is expected to serve at least 23 days in the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood.

"I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation," Paris said in a statement. "During the past few weeks, I have had a lot of time to think and have come to realize I made some mistakes."

So what was the real motive behind Paris Hilton's early entrance into jail? Hilton's lawyer, Richard Hutton, told the media the reason behind Paris’ early departure from the outside world was that, “Paris didn't want to make a media circus out of the event. She just wanted to quietly start serving her time."

Though Florida-based Criminal Attorney Bradford Cohen tells Star, Paris may have legal intentions behind her early entry into the clink. “The only thing she has to gain is that extra day. Because she turned herself in before midnight, June 3 counts as her first day served in that sentence even though she only served one hour of that day,” said Cohen, though he also admits the paparazzi had something to do with it. “I think it also has to do the with the media — she probably thought there would be less cameras there if she went in early – instead of 30 cameras there were 12.“

Paris Hilton Reassigned From Jail To House Arrest

Paris Hilton is out of jail and has been reassigned to house arrest! Paris will have to wear an electronic monitoring device on her ankle for 40 days.

Paris received five days credit for her time in jail despite the fact that she was there for only three full days for her sentence for probation violation. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's department said Paris was processed out of jail at 2:09 am on Thursday, June 7, after striking a deal due to medical issues. For privacy issues, the Sheriff's Department could not address the specific medical cause.
実際にはパリスは執行猶予中での違反の罪で受けた刑の内実際丸3日間いただけにも関わらず、服役時間に対して5日間猶予を受け取った。 ロサンジェルス地域の保安官事務所は、パリスは6月7日木曜日朝2時9分に医療問題が原因ということで成立し出所の手続きが行われた、と語った。 プライバシーの問題で、保安官事務所は明確な病気の原因は発表しなかった。
Paris released a statement saying, "I want to thank the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and staff of the Century Regional Detention Center for treating me fairly and professionally. I am going to serve the remaining 40 days of my sentence. I have learned a great deal from this ordeal and hope that others have learned from my mistakes."
